A standing order is a supply agreement
The Código de Comercio calls an agreement for periodic or continuous deliveries of goods a "suministro" (art. 968). A weekly bread order fits that description.
If you agree a minimum and a maximum, the buyer chooses the quantity within them and must take the minimum. If no quantity is agreed at all, the law takes the buyer's ordinary needs at the time of each order (art. 969).
If no price is agreed, the law presumes the average price in the place on the day of each delivery, and a price agreed for one delivery is presumed for the others of the same kind (art. 970). Agree the prices in writing.

Changing days, times and quantities
Delivery times the two sides agreed cannot be changed by one of them alone. Whoever is left to set the timing must give the other reasonable notice (art. 972).
A serious failure in one delivery can justify ending the agreement, but the supplier may never stop supplying without notice (art. 973). An open-ended supply ends with the notice agreed, the customary notice or notice suited to the supply; the Code sets no number of days (art. 977).
That is why the app hands each change to the bakery as a request to confirm, with the date it would start.

Paying for deliveries
In a periodic supply, each delivery is paid when it is made, in proportion to its quantity, unless the two sides agree otherwise. A daily supply counts as continuous and is paid as custom dictates when nothing is agreed (art. 971).
A weekly settlement is fine when both sides agree it. Write it down, together with the prices and the delivery days.

Check the bread when it arrives
A buyer who examined the goods on delivery and accepted them without objecting cannot later complain about their quality or a missing quantity (art. 939).
An invoice not challenged within three days of receiving it is taken as accepted (art. 944). An electronic invoice is accepted unless the buyer returns it or claims in writing within three business days (art. 773).
Count the bread at the door and write any shortfall or damage in the day's note on the Received screen.

Transport and handling
Food must travel in clean vehicles and containers that can be washed, never directly on the floor, never with hazardous substances, and in vehicles marked "Transporte de Alimentos" (Resolución 2674 de 2013, art. 29).
Temperature control in transport applies to foods that by their nature must be kept refrigerated or frozen, such as fillings that need a fridge.
A shop selling food must keep it protected, and its owner shares responsibility with the maker and the distributor for its sanitary condition (art. 31). Food returned to a factory may never be reprocessed for people to eat (art. 28).

Labels and dates
The general labelling rule, Resolución 5109 de 2005, covers packaged foods. Bakery products normally eaten within 24 hours of baking need no expiry date.
Front-of-pack warning seals (Resolución 810 de 2021) apply to packaged processed foods with added salt, sugars or fats above set levels, and to any packaged food with added sweeteners. Foods sold loose ("a granel") are exempt from the seals.

Invoices and IVA
Bread (tariff heading 19.05) is excluded from IVA (Estatuto Tributario art. 424). Bakery products made from sagú, yuca or achira pay 5 % (art. 468-1), and other items the general 19 %. The bakery's invoice shows the tax of each line.
Every merchant must issue an invoice or an equivalent document (art. 615). To deduct the cost, ask for an electronic invoice in your business name with its NIT; the seller may ask only for the name, the ID type and number, and an email (DIAN Resolución 227 de 2025).
When you buy on credit, confirm electronically that you received the invoice and the goods, so the invoice supports your costs (art. 616-1). Reference prices in the app come from published shop prices, which already include any tax.

Public holidays
Colombia has 19 public holidays in 2026 and in 2027. Ley 51 de 1983 moves several of them to the following Monday.
Ley 2578 de 2026 added 9 July (Nuestra Señora del Rosario de Chiquinquirá), observed on Monday 13 July 2026 and Monday 12 July 2027. A claim against it was filed with the Corte Constitucional in June 2026; the law is in force while it is decided.
Choose in Holidays & breaks whether the bakery delivers as usual on each holiday, skips it, or sends its bread with the delivery before it.
